When tragedy struck Natalie Marti's life it was a long road to physical and mental recovery. With the help of her faith and her family and friends she was able to regain her strength. She found purpose and began her emotional healing as she began speaking to various audiences and sharing her experience.
"Anyone that drinks and drives is just like the man that killed my family. Whether they hit anyone or not. It is the same wrong, thoughtless act."
Natalie speaks to audiences ranging from graduating seniors, drivers education and substance abuse classes to juvenile correction centers, victim panels, and healthcare providers. Her messages vary as she tells of the grief of losing loved ones, forgiveness, the hazards of drunk driving, overcoming tragedy and the importance of a positive attitude through recovery.
Natalie has also addressed audiences since 2005 at the "Death and Dying" workshop held annually at Boise State University and recieved first place at the Boise State Communications Speakers Showcase.
"I hope lives will be saved because of the death of my husband and daughter. I want to do all I can to prevent others from feeling the great ache and void I feel in my life now."
"Natalie Marti is a true inspiration to everyone who is lucky enough to meet her. Her story of physical AND emotional survival is something we can all learn from. No matter who she speaks to, adults or teenagers - Natalie's powerful message about NOT drinking and driving hits home, touches lives, and makes a difference."
